Julie Dorion- So Many Days

A) I LOVED Eric's Trip
B) I Saw Julie Doiron in Canada this summer but completely forgot to tell anyone how amazing she was and how amazing the brand new album "So Many Days" was...
C) I've only just remembered and relistened to it since it's been announced she will be playing The Lexington on Feb 17th
CHECK IT, Care of Exclaim.ca
And a bit of Eric's Trip too just for retro fun

On an On

On an On have already created an atmospheric anthemic chorus for Grey's Anatomy so they already have a place in my heart, but hey this tune is sadcore to sing along to.

Speck Mountain

HUGE NEW TRACK FROM SPECK MOUNTAIN

The Lighthouse and The Whaler

Cleveland literary inspired tykes The Lighthouse and The Whaler released "This is an adventure" in September last year and have toured with the likes of Matt Pond PA and Jukebox The Ghost (now that sounds like a triple bill to me...), intelligent indie pop with soaring melodies and gorgeous instrumentation. Care of KEXP (aka the best radio station in the world) check out this live take of "Pioneers"

Caitlin Rose- I Was Cruel

All the cool kids are watching Nashville this year starring former Mrs Coach Taylor (Connie Britton) and former "save the cheerleader save the world" Cheerleader Claire (Hayden Panettiere) who battle it out as the legend vs the newbie week after week...
What a long winded way to re-introduce Nashville Based Caitlin Rose who finally releases her long awaited second album "The Stand-In" in March, an incredible follow-up to the remarkable debut "Own Side Now."
"I Was Cruel" plays like a bitter follow up to the relationship in "For The Rabbits" and is a perfect introduction for the tear stained heartbreak that Caitlin often dabbles in.
It's not too early to predict 2013 as the year of the rose.

Rachel Zeffira

In all the hub hub nonsense of pre-christmas, Rachel Zeffira (Owl Eyes) debut solo album "The Deserters" got lost in the shuffle. Some beautiful theatrical pop for the cold winter mornings...
